What took you so long? I've been waiting since April. One unbelieveable setup. Far out graphics and kool tunes. Everything as promised and more. Now if I can live long enough to enjoy the unknown!

From: Vencent Edmonds <evencent@midway.uchicago.edu>
Date: 29. Oct 95 15:59
Great game and tons of fun with the video editer, i've been waiting since i read about your product in the april issue of electronic entertainment and tried the demo, its every byte as good as i hoped it would be. I play music parttime in chicago with the dysfunctionells so it was something that interested me when i learned distortion was a game that involved you being creative with music. Is there any chance that one day one might be able to create there own music with a midi device and incorperate that into the game? just asking, that probably would be impossible but anyway thanks for the great game, vence email evencent@midway.uchicago.edu P.S. forgot to mention if interested dysfunctionells web page http://www.chitown .com/http/music/dysfunct.html

it's to confussing especially in battle. I start off searching the place and getting something to eat? than i leave and don't know what to do? you don't even leave a little walk thru to help get me started who wants to read all those books making a video is a whole project and i can't even figure it out the cool thing is the graphics the rest is just to time consuming to figure out and boring yet the ideas are cool but definately need improvement

Sold my first Video, bought a new guitar, Drank lots o' coffee, Got plenty of rest, and still I'm low in my "Life Force". Hey, at least I got a new Guitar! Thanks, I'm having a blast!

From: Michael Martinson <mmartins@unlinfo.unl.edu>
Date: 1. Nov 95 10:21
Hey, GREAT Game! I've figured out how to get in the vault and had a lot of fun. I have yet to figure out how to 'prove my aliegence (sp?) to the metal lord' and thereby stop losing my life force in the vid hall. I'm going to be using my blaster E a lot from now on I'm sure. Love how it blasts the guitar warriors. --Gray

From: Peter Fierlinger <Peter@Turntable.com>

Congratulations on the long-awaited release! If the game is half as good as the demos, it should be fantastic. For those of you who can't get enough distortion, check out Turntable Med ia's page for info on a CD+ we're working on for the Beastie Boys.

Hey! I work part-time at a Software Etc store in Rhode Island. TD looked uh, "unique" when we first got it, so I checked out the game for a few days. You creeps! Now I'm addicted to the damned game & will probably spen d all of next week's paycheck on my own copy. Anyway, just to let you all know that I was very impressed with the total package--game play, variety, looks--you've got a winner and it's something I can recommend as THE Christmas gift for a totally distort ed holiday. Thanks, Peg Reill Sr. Sales Associate, Software Etc Store# 283, Warwick RI PegNGregg@aol.com/ Margaret_Reill@brown.edu

Righteous game!!!!!! But needs hints badly!! I have logged 32 hours playing and I keep dying in the "TV" maze - so I cant get any new footage for vids, I am getting a little frustrated - so I have quit playing until I can get some hints.

From: Craig Bettenhausen <tenhaus@camelot.bradley.edu>
Date: 8. Nov 95 16:12
I think TD is great! Although it is a bit puzzling to figure out what you should do next at any given time, it's not a real brain racker if you look at the obvious. The total environment with all the crazy sounds and all is awesome!

Really great game, very addictive - but I wish there were more hints in the documentation that came with it. I have been stuck in the same spotfor over 20 hours of play. Right before the cable maze. Otherwise its a great concept - very unique.

Lots O' Fun! Wish I could do more with the video sequencer, though -- it's tough to get the images up right at the beat you want them on. (Of course, I only have a 486/33...) Puzzles have a bit more hand-eye-timing coordination than I prefer, but still fun. Now if I can just get this artifact assembled I might figure out what the shower curtain rings are for.

I played TD yesterday at a friend┤s who┤s reviewing the game for a german computer-mag. My opinion: terrific!!!! I got addicted immediately and tried to download your demo for the PowerMac but was prompted with "Warning: unrecognized encoding: Mac-binhex40" I use a PPC 710o/66 with system 7.5.1 and the latest Stuffit engine. The downloading stopped after some 60% and the decoding process ended with a warning that the file might be damaged. Too bad! Anyhow, it seems mankind is about to become totally distorted - as if it wasn┤t distorted already...crazy stuff! Congratulations! Regards - Jo

Hope you don't find the comment offensive. It wasn't intended to be. Once everything loads, this is a nicely put-together set of pages. Regards, jt

I think TD is truly awesome. It is really stimulating and innovative. However, I do have one gripe: it's too easy to get killed!!! I mean, here I am, all psyched to explore this bizarre and intriguing world, and I can't even get past the Guitar Warriors on the easiest setting. I think it's a great product, and clearly a lot of work went into it, but I think the difficulty still needs to be tweaked for people who want to explore...as an arcade thumb-candy game, it is mediocre at best, but as an engaging audio-visual experience, it is superb.

Total Distortion is the best thing to come down the pike since sliced bread, or the wheel, or Madonna's bras. No kidding! How they were able to combine so many wonderful elements of fun and silliness into the same game, and then add some of the hoopiest music ever to be laid on a cd is beyond me. Those guys at Pop Rocket must be gods or sumphin!
